True Love-Serouj Serop

Is there love ? Is love at first sight true ? Does love even exist ? Well ,actually, I found love at the end of my technical year in 2013.We started practicing and getting ready for our prom, so we had to go to school all day long just to get ready.During the academic classes, I met a lot of girls, but there was that girl, who was special, beautiful and wonderful . Her name was Rita Harmanlikian. I knew that she was the one for me as my heart told me .I wanted to know her more ,so I made like some plans .During both academic and technical classes, we got to know each other ,and we started going to more places. We had one common friend too, so he made that group on whatsApp. We knew each other more and more after the official exams .She became my girlfriend ,and we loved each other .Everyone told us that our love story was like the love story of Romio and Juliet. Rita always dreamed of having a prince in her life ,so I was her prince. After that ,we had so much fun with each other, and we loved and cherished each other. Love sometimes fools you around ,and one can't find his\her true love. I actually found my true love ,and I am so happy that God created her for me.

Remy Rhayem UPEN003 - Section 1 Journal #3 Believe in Yourself Michelangelo said,“I hope that I may always desire more than I can accomplish. ” This statement reflects my personality because I really enjoy having some difficult goals and dreams that are hard to accomplish. Therefore, I know the real meaning of success. Working hard on a project and spending very long time to do it perfectly is something good because eventually I know that I will take high grades. I believe that this kind of hope leads to real success. Usually, when a person puts a goal to achieve, one does his/her best in order to get what he/she aspires. Thus, even if the dream is quiet impossible, the person will try to do the best to get it; and he/she will attain it . In the same vein,William Shakespeare said, “If there is a good will, there is a great way.” Will is a “must”; it is the state that encourages the wish of positive outcomes. An example of the abovementioned would be when I was at school ,and the administration organized a Christmas concert prepared by students. The director told me that he chose me to present the concert. I had been shocked because I didn't have any idea about presenting, standing in front a lot of people and speaking without fear. However, I accepted the challenge, and I decided to be strong and confident in order to eliminate that fear. Consequently, I practiced every day. The big day came. I went to the concert with another personality; I looked like a girl that nothing could stop her encouragement, passion and determination in her own life. I was that strong girl who could do anything to achieve her goals. Finally, I presented that concert and all the attendants had been satisfied because I saw their smile on their face all the time. As such, every person has to put some goals even if he / she believe that they are difficult and impossible to realize. When you work hard ,you will surely be able to get what you want. Although you work hard sometimes, you don't get what you want; don’t let this break you down because certainly you have a good and beneficial experience. Always put goals and work hard to achieve them. To sum up, now, I believe that I should not refuse and give up directly before thinking because this suggestion may be so useful for me.

Ali Atwi-Happiness

Name: Ali Atwi Journal entry#2 Happiness Dalai Lama said, “Happiness is not something readymade. It comes from your own actions.” It isn’t easy to do something difficult with happiness, but if you are an AUB Red Cross member, you will do it easily. This is what happened with me in the Red Cross camp on February 1st and 2nd in Joun which is near Saida. First of all, we went from AUB to South Lebanon ,and we had a lot of fun on the way. After about an hour, we reached that place named Almokhales Monastery. After that ,we went to our bedrooms , and everyone put his clothes in the perfect place. Moreover, we were a big group from USAID scholarship ,and this made our days wonderful. In addition, we had a big training related to our life skills. It was about communication, time management, team work, and work with children. It was so beneficial because then I became able to deal with children, and I knew many ways to save my time; I also learned the importance of communication. Besides, we weren’t only doing training; we did a lot of games and entertainment activities such as playing cards, craftworks, and the rally paper game. Among those games was the rally paper game, a very challenging game that helped us to use our mind logically . Above all, the most important thing in the camp was that I had then more than 120 friends from AUB ,and that was the amazing result of that camp because we needed each other to live; maybe in the future, I would need some help with fulfilling the requirements of my courses. Who could predict ? . All such things made me say that we could build our happiness ,and I learned that everything difficult we would pass by our smiles;we should be in pursuit of continuous happiness as long as we are alive.
