From Failure to a Continual Success Story Beyond a reasonable doubt, everyone encounters the failure at least once in his/her life. However,every failure in my own life was an unforgettable lesson. I really lived the high school life or the institute life. I completed my first year of Interior Design with distinction ;a year later, I faced some problems with my surrounding , and I used to hang out with friends and neglect studying . I thought that I could get through the second year with the same ease I did in the first one. When I received my grades, I was astonished because most of my grades were bad , and the rest of them were just C's. In addition, I was frustrated by that shock! I was ashamed and embarrassed, but I knew that I wanted to pursue my dream of being an interior designer. Then I decided to take my own path to have my dream come true .Thus, full of energy ,I repeated the second year of my major. Over the next 2 years, I worked diligently to become organized, develop study techniques, and find a balance among school, work, clubs, sports, and friends. There was the trick: the first thing I needed to do was to look inward and ask myself if I really wanted to succeed, and if I really wanted to give up some Saturday nights to study .Were the answers to those questions yes, I would be on my way to accomplish my goal. In addition, I sought help from my professors and teachers, just because all the professors from our institute loved to see their students learning successfully. My best advice would be to stay focused. There were a few times when I studied for 7 hours a day for 10 days for one subject and still didn't attain the grade I was hoping for. When that happened , I realized that I had to go over my tests with my professors, find out what I misunderstood and then re-learned the material a new way. That would not only help me for the cumulative finals, but it would also stick in my memory more vividly. In addition, I had to stay positive at all times.

Thankfulness

Thankfulness Robert Louis Stevenson said, "Keep your eyes open to your mercies. The man who forgets to be thankful has fallen asleep in life. This quote caught my eyes while I was scrolling down in my facebook news. Few moments later, it really got me thinking. Most of us used to nag asking for everything that we wish we had experienced in life. As a result, our times had been wasted because contrarily we had to think and thank for what we had in our lives. For such a reason ,I realized that many people desired what I had and that was another good reason to be thankful for my blessings. As such, I continued thinking about the topic, and I figured out many things. If you woke up today with more health than illness, you would be more blessed than the millions who wouldn't survive . If you had never known the dangers of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, hunger pains, you would have been ahead of 500 million people worldwide.If you went to the church or a temple without being persecuted, arrested, tortured or killed; you would be more blessed three billion people on the planet.If you had food in your refrigerator, and wore clean clothes,had a roof over your head and a safe place to sleep, you would be richer than the other 75 % of the population.If you had money in the bank, money in your wallet, and a few coins in a jar at home, you would be a part of the 8% of the affluent population in the world.If your parents were still alive and married, you would be rare.If you read such a message or went on facebook to read beautiful quotes, you would receive a double blessing because someone had thought of you and you would be luckier than 2 billion people who could not read and didn't have a computer. Should you bring a smile on your face, and be grateful for all you are blessed, you will experience true happiness.

Sarah Hanna:So Close

So Close It is said, “Live as if you were to die tomorrow, and learn as if you were to live forever.”It was midnight and I was sleeping as usual when, suddenly, I felt a very annoying thing happening to me. I woke up promptly ,unable to breath, and I was as if I was choking. My sister woke up scared hearing me doing that, and she started yelling and shouting with fear. Then my parents also rushed to the room, and they all were trying to talk to me and understand what was happening. For me, I was feeling that I would die with that terrible ,terrifying feeling that wouldn't enable me to inhale oxygen and would cause dizziness . Approximately a minute passed while I was trying to regain my balance . The few seconds would be considered the worst and the hardest seconds I had in my life so far.I stayed shocked unable to talk after that . My mom, feeling scared, was crying while hugging me .The next day and the days after, while I was recalling and really trying to figure out what happened, I felt that our life could be a very precious thing. I could have died by that accident, but I believe that God had different destiny for me . In this life, a person cannot know what the next second in will hold for him/her. A simple accident might lead a person to lose his life. Your life is a gift from God, and you didn’t accidently come to this life. It is because God has a special and certain plan for every one of us. So use and live your life wisely, and learn the good things. Do not postpone your important issues in your life because you don’t know what might happen.

Cesar Mattar Hot Ice It is said ,"Nothing in life is to be feared. It is to be understood." On a foggy day, we met Faraya with so much pleasure. When we were taking our first step on the snow, we decided to camp on that first step. As such, we spread our tents all over the place where we gathered around the fire ,and bottles of wine were opened. My friends and I had smeared marshmallow, and sweet potatoes had been cooked along. As time passed drinking , having fun ,and joking, incidentally ,scary voices were heard. At that moment, my friends and I got frightened. We didn’t try to search for the source of that sound because we were scared to death. However, we decided to hide in our tents for a while to save ourselves. After a while, that sound disappeared, and we found that it was useless hiding inside instead of enjoying that snowy breezy atmosphere. We played the snow ball fight. We had so much fun running all over the place till we got tired and unable to stand on our feet anymore. We were in need to catch some rest, so we sneaked back to our tents ,and we slept all night long. I learned that the time people waste over fear can be replaced with memorable and breathtaking moments of happiness and satisfaction .People live only once ,and once is more than enough if they invest life in cherishing what they believe in.

Were I to describe the man of my dreams ,he would not be the most handsome ,but he would be perfect for me.He would need to be a man that will make me smile from the inside out, highly mannered, educated, respectful, emotional and honest.He might as well be a man who is patient yet probing ;a man who will give me affection with ease.A man who is interested in knowing all there is to know about me the good and the bad. A man who believes I am worth it. In return, I will fulfill my man’s dream in being someone who is caring enough to tackle our relation by being savvy, witted, genuine, tender and loving.I will be a woman who will open his heart with ease and will not judge him by mistakes he makes, but instead helps by showing my understanding.A woman who will see him through and not to give up on him and not to possess his heart and soul. A woman who believes he is worth it.

Why Students Cheat? Cheating is the act of dishonesty or unfairness in order to gain an advantage. It is the best way to make things easier. Sometimes it's done for fun and for a good laughter. Cheating may be done on a test, at school, in a game,etc. Students in general are good at cheating because most of them won't learn their lessons or do their homework. That is why they cheat. Moreover, students cheat to get high scores, to pass tests and to finish what they have started. I, personally, as a student have cheated several times on my tests, homework, assignments. In addition, cheating is strictly forbidden during tests. Some students encounter difficulties in memorizing certain rules ,so they tend to cheat while taking a Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics. Above all, some students believe that their teachers don't mind having students cheat on exams . Students think that cheating is the only answer. I used to play all day long so that I couldn't finish my study requirement . Thus, I used to ask my classmates for answers during tests and used to be punished when caught. I planned specific strategies to cheat and to get away with it. Sometimes, students would expose me for cheating as it was unfair for them to study hard and get the same results. It is illogical for some students to spend hours studying when they can take high scores by cheating. Cheaters usually help each other to cheat because it sometimes becomes fun and exciting. During my years of cheating, I felt that I was missing a lot of knowledge. It led me backwards in my education and made me feel weak. After a period of time, I decided not to cheat anymore and try to complete what was requested by the school. The consequence made me a better student than before. It isn't a bizarre experience to cheat when nobody can find out ;therefore, some students like to explore the unusual things like cheating. In conclusion, cheating may render lack of knowledge and bad habits. Therefore, as students, we should try our best to study even though it may sometimes become boring or hard. As a result, cheating is a bad habit and a false act in our pursuit of knowledge.

Essay: Why Some Students Cheat? Cheating in the exam is the best way to pass for a student. Most students tried or cheated for a minimum of one time in their exams. Some students try to cheat by taking some notes they had already written, others will try to look at their friends’ papers to take the answers, and some others will whisper the question to their friends so they can give them the answers in return. Cheating on exams has many reasons ,such as being afraid to fail, showing their coolness, and reflecting their environment. First of all, the main reason that makes some students cheat is the fear of failure. Students will be afraid to fail and not to be in the same class of their peers. Any person would prefer success instead of failure ,so do students. They think that if they fail, they will have to face a lot of problems. For example, when students come to class on the day of an exam without studying, they will see that the only way to pass is cheating. The students fear the disappointment caused by failure ;above all, they don't like to face embarrassment . Second of all, the second reason that makes students cheat is to show their abilities. Students, at the teen age, think that cheating will make them cooler. Some students believe that by skipping classes, neglecting homework, cheating on the exams…they will be cooler ,and their potentials will be shown. For example, when students cheat on an exam ,and the teacher doesn't catch them , they will feel so happy as if they achieve one of their goals in life, which gives them self-confidence, and that’s a good reason that will make students cheat. Sometimes, they cheat in order to show off to their friends. Third of all, the last reason is the students' environment. The environment of the student will affect them. If they are surrounded by people that keep criticizing them , they will be prone to cheating . For example, if their parents complain about their low grades, their friends will laugh at them and perceive them from a lower view; these reasons will lead the students to cheating. Finally, all students who cheat, know that cheating is wrong, but some reasons will make them cheat. Knowing that there should not be any reason that justifies cheating , but nowadays there are still some students who cheat on their exams. Serguina Akiba.

Hiba Irani-My Mother

My Mother It is said,“Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I will try again tomorrow.” This is how my mother fought the cancer and survived. In the beginning of 2012, my mother discovered that she had breast cancer. My father, my brother and I were all worried and our hearts were filled with sorrow. I started thinking of losing her. My mother was and still my best friend, we had been feeling harmony towards each other, and she had been my only inspiration when I used to be down. She had been offering me unconditional, tender love. The doctor set the date of operation; it was on March 13, 2012. We were scared, but she was totally the opposite of us. She was full of hope ,and the smile covered her angel face. She entered the surgery room. It took 3 hours. Some memories crossed my mind; the laughter we had, and the way she stayed awaken till the dawn when I used to be sick couldn't be forgotten; she watched me growing while teaching me what love and sacrifice meant. The operation finished, and the three hours passed like thirteen hours. She regained her senses ,and the doctor was there, smiling and saying “Thank God; everything went well”. We felt the wind of peace for her healing. My mother wouldn’t survive without her courage and faith. She is my sunshine. Her experience has taught me a great lesson which is how to be strong in life in order to face all hard situations. I have a fascinating mom ,and she is everything to me. Hiba Irani March 2, 2014

Inspiration,Bashar Zaarour

Inspiration Inspiration, what a great word which means a lot, and I think that inspiration is found in each one of us!!!! Many people, especially writers, give inspiration a lot of importance, since it awakens their feelings and let them draw their own wonders. In addition, we can see that musicians also give inspiration a lot of importance, and we can see that when they write their harmonies and symphonies… We can see that the most amazing inspirations are gotten from the dawn when before sun rises ,where there is a sweet wind which is self healing and full of passion and cleaned air. I assume that inspiration is fascinating and relieving for people who are agonized by sadness, and it definitely cures them… Other people might believe that sitting with a tender person lets you get your inspiration ,and we can evidently notice people who compose soft music and make romantic movies, etc … All in all, inspiration is a great action that anyone takes from anything he loves, and I trust that everyone has his own way of getting inspired !!!!!
