New World….New Life

New World….New Life
It is said, “A university should be a place of light, liberty and learning.” I still remember very well the first day at AUB when I had a lot of emotions wrestling within me like a battlefield. I couldn’t know what facial expressions I had to draw. The happiness of being at AUB or the sadness for leaving my parents and my hometown were incessantly bewildering me. AUB, the reputable university in the Middle East, brought me joy and pleasure. I started a new life for which I become responsible for every detail in this life far away from my parents. However, I was aware of the importance of this opportunity, so my choice was either to challenge myself, to be strong and to encounter all the difficulties or stick to my hometown. I was conscious to choose my close friends and to act with strange people. In addition, I had to cook and to wash my dishes and my laundry. At the same time, I had to study hard in order to preserve my scholarship and not disappoint my parents who have been very proud of me so far. Now, I feel comfortable although I miss my parents, but I should adjust to my new life.
