Jinane Jouni :Impossible, But...

Impossible, But... We all heard about French emperor Napoleon Bonaparte and his victories. He was wiser and he inspirited me by the maxim he said,” Impossible is a word to be founded only in the dictionary of fools.” We all say “it is impossible” when facing something difficult or needs an effort. I also used to belong to those people who repeat that expression, yet not anymore. I lived many situations that made me feel confused. They tempted me to surrender and quit. “It seems impossible, I can’t do it.” I didn’t even give myself a chance to try. I lost many experiences because of that foolish thinking. However, I decided to change and be more courageous. I want to be brave and try at least. I can’t judge if something is impossible if I didn’t try. I wasn’t sure I could be able to learn English someday, but now I can. I work hard; I read stories and studied a lot. I said it is impossible to be in AUB, but here I am learning in it. If I only stand and complain, I would be now in another university. It was impossible to go back with my old friends, but I went see her because I did that. I went see her and I made my destiny. It was impossible for me to forget my boyfriend and move on. It wasn’t possible to jump from high places, but I made a rappel. Many people have said it was impossible and they lost their only chance. However, other people have believed in their strength and their capabilities, and they made it. It was impossible to fly in the air, to speak with someone 5,000 miles away, to see what’s happening in other countries, to discover the universe, to step on Moon, electricity and light bulb were imaginary, but they broke the limits and they turn it into possible. Foolish people will stand apart and watch, repeating “it is impossible.” While we have to convey ourselves that any person has a strong determination then nothing is impossible for him. The impossible is only the failure when trying to accomplish something, and that will be a challenge for others.
