Remy Rhayam:Sincerely, a Bad Day
Sincerely, a Bad Day
I had never been more nervous, lost and worried in my life. I had just spent a few hours to go to the airport, so I could travel home after spending four unforgettable days in Marseille. However, those days had a bad end, and I will never forget what happened with me.
I traveled with my cousin from Lebanon to Marseille. But he had been obliged to come back before me. Thus, I stayed alone in a country where I didn’t know anyone, and I should travel from Marseille to Lebanon alone. That was my first experience at the airport where no one was with me and nothing was accustomed to me. I didn’t know from where I should go and begin in order to get the plane. A situation of dread and horror covered me because I didn’t want to be late; I want to back in no time.
At the beginning I decided to depend on myself and do everything alone without any help; I wanted to prove that I can adapt with all situations even if they were very hard, but I didn’t succeed because the airport was very huge and complicated. At that time, I tried to ask a woman for help, but she didn’t understand anything because she knew neither Arabic nor French. That was terrible! I stood up in the middle of the pathway where people went back and forth, and I asked myself hesitantly and fearfully what will happen now; what I should do.
I brought my bag, and I followed a small group of people. We finally got the elevator; they entered, but there was not enough space for me. What a Bad luck I have! I started again to panic after having a small hope that my problem might have been solved. Therefore, I decided to wait another elevator. I got another one, and I pressed the button 4 because the last group chose it. The elevator climbed it up to the fourth floor. Then it stopped the doors opened, and I looked fearfully.
I had been shocked because the lobby was empty like a desert. At that moment, my tears formed in my eyes; I was afraid to miss my airplane. Moreover, bad ideas came into my head. I wanted to see my family and my friends because I felt that I would not see them again. All I wanted was to return back home safely. Suddenly, an airport employee saw me, and directly he helped me after telling him my problem. He took me to the right place. Thus, when I turned to thank him, he was gone.
I hope that I can see him another time to thank him a lot for his good behavior. In addition, I hope that one day I can help another traveler who has troubles like me. Finally, I come back home safely after spending an unforgettable day full of adventures.
