Remy Rhayem:Amazing Experience

Amazing Experience Rob Mckenna said, “You can study government and politics in school, but the best way to really understand the process is to volunteer your time.” Really, volunteering in an activity that has a good purpose is something special and unique, and no one can describe it correctly because of its deep meaning. That is because helping others is appreciative and the most important thing one can do. The first volunteer activity for the spring semester was with D-RASATI project. That project had been held to help public schools in Lebanon by acquiring them by ICT equipment. However, every two members of USP went to a school in order to know the case of each school and if they use technology while teaching students. But before visiting schools, we did training on campus to know what we will do. The trainers were very good; they gave us all details about every single question in order to know how to answer director’s questions. In addition, they answered all students’ questions without nagging. On March 1st, I went to my previous school. I was very excited to see how it will be after leaving it. I arrived with my partner, and we waited few seconds the director to come. When he arrived, he was very happy by seeing us after a long time. He asked us about the university and our majors. Moreover, when I got into the school I felt that something I can’t express it came into my heart. For a short time, I remembered everything happened with me there. I remembered where I was sitting with my friends, where I stood up to go into the class, and how the director was shouting on students while doing something wrong. After that, two employees joined us, and we began the interview. They knew what we will ask, so they were prepared everything and especially the questions that need numbers and teachers’ name. After doing these questions with them, we moved to survey the photocopiers, printers, fax and computers at their office. Then, we moved to the IT lab to check the computers there to collect and the needed information. Finally, we thanked them for their help, and we went back to our home. Honestly, it was a tremendous and beneficial experience because I went back to my previous school where I spent three unforgettable years mixed with happiness, sadness, anxious and fear. Furthermore, I met again these beautiful people who gave me a lot of things and now they have been proud of me because I were very intelligent, I got the scholarship, and I was helping to improve my school to be better. Thus, all what I did, and I will do help me to be a good leader and an effective member in my society.
